Begonia pteridoides

25+ seeds of this unique-looking species from the famous Nosy Mangabe island in Madagascar, where is is in decline, possibly even extinct in the wild.  Habitat is stream-side granite boulders, so high humidity conditions are required.

MPORTANT NOTICE: exceptionally, the seeds of this species have a relatively short viability window, so be advised to sow them without delay after reception. Recommended sowing media: finely chopped live sphagnum moss on top of layer of slightly acidic soil mix. But they will usually also germinate in more standard sowing mixes.

All of our seeds are hand-pollinated by us in Canada to ensure pure, true-to-species stock. Germination rates are retested periodically.
