The famous "peacock begonia" from the highland forests of Malaysia, renowned for the extraordinary blue-green iridescence that shimmers across its leaves in low light (a structural colour the plant uses to capture the dim light of the forest floor.) This is the darker form, where the iridescence reads especially vivid against near-black foliage. This particular form is more compact than most B. pavonina specimens in circulation. A highland species: it prefers cooler temperatures than most begonias along with high humidity, and can sulk in heat. Terrarium conditions strongly recommended.
All of our seeds are hand-pollinated by us in Quebec, Canada to ensure pure, true-to-species stock. Germination rates are retested every few months.
Listing is for 20+ Begonia pavonina dark form seeds.
