Listing is for 20+ Begonia pearcei seeds. This tuberous species hails from the high Andes of Bolivia, where it grows at elevations of 2,000–3,000 m. Dark velvety leaves with striking chartreuse veining, and bright yellow blooms. Pearcei is the wild parent that gave modern tuberous hybrids their yellow flowers. Being a high elevation species it prefers cooler temperatures than most begonias, and germination can stall if your grow space runs warm. A lower shelf, away from the heat of the lights, makes a real difference. Will appreciate a winter rest.
All of our seeds are hand-pollinated by us in Quebec, Canada to ensure pure, true-to-species stock. Germination rates are retested every few months.
